Communication is essential.

Please assign responsibility to someone at Cyan to be a technical liaison to communicate problems between these forums and the Uru Live team at Cyan.

This person could post acknowledgements of troubles, updates, and all-clears so that the subscribers would not have to wonder and speculate in a vacuum on these forums.

If nothing else, there should be a technical update or "Cavern Status" section on the website for which this person is responsible to maintain. I have already posted this specific idea here in this suggestion forum some time ago.

This existence of this representative would preclude the common, and false, argument that Cyan has better things to do with its time and resources than to answer questions from us because this person's time IS better spent informing us.

I would like to add that this person should not be required to answer questions or directly address any individual. They should only watch for general concerns, communicate them to the team, and post well-defined notices.

I have submitted a ticket. And anyone is free to do so. But this will be useful and informative during any day in the future. I would not exactly want to encourage a reactionary movement in this case just because we're having trouble on Launch Day. A steady trickle is better than a massive surge for just one day only to disappear the next. Like the so-called Chinese Water Torture rather than a big bucket of water. ;)

Already exists, his name is GreyDragon ;).

Only difference is that he doesn't post updates regularly, like you suggest, which would be a great idea, but I think we can live without (on the whole - however, if say lag become unbearable all of a sudden we would need answers stat).

Time to resurrect this thread to let Cyan know that easily-found communications about current Cavern status information is appreciated and expected. IN ADVANCE, before all the threads are created needing to ask the questions about what's happening, or having to go into GameTap and trying to play.

This would be a good thing. Even a little "Server Status" sticky up the top of the forum that could be regularly updated would be helpful.
