And is that why i don't see a cursor?

But there is no mouse support, so to "activate" things you hit the "a" key. And you can deal with the "inventory" with the "i" key. And the "l" key to "light" the flashlight. Spacebar to jump. There might be more commands but I can't remember them at the moment.

It may be different on non-UK keyboards but when I hit the apostrophe key a '>' appears at the bottom left of the screen where you can type commands. The only commands I've discovered so far are two pretty handy ones:
save filename
load filename

Need less to say, these save your current game and load it. The filename doesn't seem to need any extension.

Hitting ' again turns the command line back off.

Im pretty sure that there are others. I wish I could remember them. Its been a long time. Should at least be some kind of stats.

Wow, what a cool find! Hey, if Cyan allows it, it would be cool to see this place show up in a future Age... :D

Another cool find! Unfortunately, the game crashes whenever I try to load a saved game. Guess I'll just have to play it like an arcade adventure game.

Ohey, it's you. Shock and amazement all around in the GoW IRC :P

I'll run 'strings' on the executable when I get home from class, to get a list of commands. I'll of course share that.

And depending on what's in that debug version, we might have a lot of fun playing with this thing...

That plasmaclient page looks cool. I didn't know about that. Nice work. Is it open source somewhere?

Brice you really need to get Mark to give you blue text. Even though you're not with Cyan anymore you'll always be one of them to us. It's awesome to see more people coming out of the woodworks :D

Is there any way to use the stuff I picked up? The only options are Drop and Put in Backpack. And why is there no inventory in Uru? This is quite cool :)

Hmm, I wonder if we can get realMYST working properly with this Glide wrapper

To "use" something press 'a' (action or activate). If you have the appropriate item in your hand at a place where it is useful, then Simon (your character) will use it.

This is so great!!! And it works like a charm on my Win XP SP3 and with the Glide wrapper (didn't try it without)... :P

Thanks, Chogon and thanks Marein for the D'ni stuff and thanks to Zardoz for getting Cyan's attention with your
extra topic on this matter, which leaded to this highly valuable gift... ahh, and your video is wonderful too, Agenotfound...
And more thanx to all who revealed all the proper keystrokes... :D

it's kewl to actually get to play as Simon!! this must be an early incarnation of Simon from before he was running amok in early real time test renders of the places we get to explore today for ourselves. i must say, there's a lot of things i've gotten to do since joining URU live that i never thought i'd ever get to do. this is one of em :D

even though it's a rough game meant as an experiment, it's a full fledged game that was never inteded to be played so it's so great that we're getting to play it now!! as crude as it is, it awesome getting to see URU in its infancy :D

btw, first name: Simon, last name: Says?
