Activity in the cavern has gone up noticeably since the Obduction Kickstarter.

I figure there are some significant distractions for our fan base which we should expect to diminish CAVCON. The Kickstarter, and continued funding of Obduction via Paypal, as well as Christmas gifts for family, I imagine are all cutting into CAVCON.

When RealMyst: Masterpiece Edition is released it too will draw away some $. But we're expecting that release to happen soon, and the Obduction funding is over at the end of February.

So I'm betting that MOULa funding will generally be a bit stronger for a while beginning in March.

Hopefully we'll all be in position to make the most of it. As for a financier like Cate Alexander, if the Obduction fundraising effort proved anything it's that we -collectively - absolutely can raise the kind of cash needed to create new worlds. Our community is strong enough to fund an entire game, so we ought to be able to fund the development of new content for an already-existing game.

If Cate Alexander was the face of Turner/GameTap, who or what would be the face of a crowd-sourced project? A commoner, perhaps.

Ehhh... wait a minute... Has RAWA become psychic?

Suddenly some of the numbers (logins, age visits and unique users) that were posted for 12/04/13 are now appearing as data for 12/11/13, meaning RAWA knew them a week in advance of the data being available :P

Psychic, no. Sloppy, yes.

Chogon basically has a week to get me the login stats, since I don't post those until the following week in the history stat post. Sometimes, he's extra speedy and gets them to me before I post the current week's account numbers. So I was looking at the current week's login stats when I was supposed to be posting the previous week's stats.

The numbers currently in the history post are accurate.

Apologies for the confusion and inconvenience.

:)

Yeah, but that's also the average figure for the previous three Decembers so no big surprise in itself. Between the Kickstarter and Christmas a lowish figure was probably to be expected.

So true :)

By the way, when donating, I was offered a checkbox for making the donation monthly - is that new, or does it depend on country or something? If it was normal now, that might give a nice way of knowing for the future how high is the reliable base of money influx is, and how much is random ...

That monthly option is a fairly new feature - maybe been there a couple of months or so. I wouldn't expect Cyan to reveal how many people are using it though.

CAVCON 2.4 is a bit on the feeble side, for 2/3 of the way through the month, though I know many of us will still be feeling the pinch after Christmas. But this may be a good time to remind folks that we're rapidly approaching the 4th anniversary of MOULa - something that could only be achieved through the donations of the fans here.
