It seems many explorers desire to have low Ki numbers. I can think of some cases(like the Gould Of Greeters) where it's more important to have low Ki numbers so that you can be more easily contacted. People involived in the 'MystiTech' project would also like them since they are teleported by Gray Hats who must enter they number all the time. I don't think this is as important as the greeters. The last group is explorers who won't they low Ki# like they had in MOULa 2010. With this poll I hope to be able to gather appoxomently who needs low Ki numbers and how many people are in each group.

The end goal would be to be able to ogranize re-entery into the cavern so that diffrent group enter at diffrent times, so everyone gets what they want.

2010? Old timers?! SON, I'VE BEEN HERE SINCE 2003, and that doesn't count the time lurking around on the DRC Site and RivenGuild years before that. Now get me my cane, I'm going to be one of the first in line for the KI machine, and I'm certainly not going to let a bunch of hackers stop me.

I'll repeat what I said in a different thread. The only reason I'd want a low-ish KI# is so that I'd have an easy time remembering it. But I really don't think that whatever KI# I end up getting will be one that I'll be memorizing, so it doesn't matter to me.

Ya know, I'm beginning to wonder just what the D'ni (OOC: Cyan) were thinking when they assigned KI owners numbers, instead of just their names.

Ok I fixed that part of the opening post.

If most people don't care what there Ki numbers are, then I guess no specail arrangments will be made. I personally don't care but I wanted to see how many people did, so I made this poll.

UPDATE: Too posted before I could finish editing this post.

I have no clue what Cyan was thinking assigning Ki numbers too people, although I'm 90% sure you can add people to your buddy list no matter what age there in by Ki number but not by name. That makes me think it's some sort of secutiry thing.

Also if you want to be '#1' you can just make an avaitar with that name.

A question and a suggestion from me :)

- Why do the Guild of Greeters members (well if there's any left in Uruverse) have to get low KI number avatars?

- Why don't we simply compile a list with the people for whom it is important (for some twisted reason, IM-not-so-HO) to have a low KI number avatar, and find a way to help them towards getting what they want.
Say if Cyan needs testers at some point we could ask them to accept them and give them earlier access in the Cavern, or, dunno, just wait until they log in first?

Clearly a fund-raising opportunity here. I'd suggest:

* Single-digit KI numbers, $1000 each.
* 2-digit KI numbers $250 each.
* 3-digit numbers $100 each
* 4-digit numbers $10 each
* 5-digit numbers $2 each

6 digits and up free.

Note that the 5-digits numbers alone, if they all sold, would raise $180,000....and I suspect a great many people would kick in $2 to get a nice KI number and to help support Uru.

Of course, it costs money to implement a scheme like this, so maybe a $10 administrative fee tacked on to each sale....lol.

I think the poll is a bit off, no one NEEDS a low number, I would prefer a low number if I can get it, but I don't feel any condition makes anyone more deserving of it than anyone else. I just said "I don't care what my Ki number is" because my preference does not equal need, and the "yes" poll options all had to imply that I had some thought about my status, or a certain condition, making me more deserving of it.

Maybe a slightly better poll could have been:

Would you prefer a low KI number?:

-Yes, I feel I deserve a low number
-Yes, I hope I get a low number
-Yes, but it's only a slight preference
-No, I don't have any preference
-No, I'd prefer a higher KI number

I agree so I've changed the question so its now one of wants and not needs. Sorry if this effected the way anyone voted.

I want a low KI number and be on the original DRC Bevin/Hood like in MOUL.

Or no vault wipe. That would be fine too.

Once upon a time, when URU was "new", KI numbers were a somewhat fair way of gauging someone's experience level...... but not any more. Now it's just a number; nothing more, nothing less.

Regarding the "I'd like a low KI number so I can remember it / makes it easy for someone else to remember" I'd like to make 2 points ...
1) How many of you memorise phone numbers? or birth dates? They're numbers roughly 10 digits long.
2) If it's for grey hats to use to, say, warp people around ... MOULa has copy & paste functionality now, so numbers could be copied from KI mails or pasted into chat.

EDIT: I voted "I don't care what my KI number is" ... because I don't.
