The lever dumps the batch. It's a mistake we all make at one point. :)

I touched the blue button again, and one dropped through but did NOT appear anywhere else. [not in the tray]

Try linking out and back. That fixed it for me when I had that happen.

Ok, I donned my Mad Scientist outfit and
set three ovens to 40/30/20 and one to 20/15/10.

I thought I would get four pellets, one from each oven.

I dropped the first one  Stupid rubber gloves!
2. 910
3. 902
4. 915
5. 891
Average 904.5 All with a bright orange glow that flowed out and covered the whole surface of the water. Deviation between pellets of 24.

I don't understand what you all mean by %. Where is that?

And how about this! Has anyone else noticed that there is a little line about half way up the scale where we test the pellets? Maybe that is as high as we need to go, and get an orange glow.

But why would the KI track the numbers if we aren't supposed to be going for a high number, Gosh Darnit!

I'm thinking that we Are going for high energy, isn't that what the meter is testing for? And for a bright orange glow.

Ok...I'm going back in!

Ah.. guess I need to start again... linking out/back in didn't help. LOL

That's ok.. just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything trying to get them back.

Thanks! :)

Apparently Laxman has installed some machinery down by the ferry docks to monitor our progress! I'm happy! Something we can all participate in and actually see an effect from in this episode! Woot!

Ad'ytum:

The % we're all talking about is the blue meter on the 'scanner', we're all just estimating the value that it represents.

The meter seems to be measuring how much energy is either in the pellet or how much energy the pellet will cause the algae to release. The general consensus is that we need to aim for a medium-to-high light event. Although too bright a light(the white flash-wave that you get with the bahro recipe) we think means that the algae are burning out (and thus why we get a smaller amount of points with the bahro recipe).

It seems that the points track the overall healthiness of the pellet, not the overall energy, because we seem to be getting much better results point-wise with the less energetic flavors of pellets.

I think I know what that blue bar is... It could be the density of the pellet!

(Edit) I'm doing some short-duration tests (30 min, 70pt yield) to see if I can directly control the blue bar using only the middle control.

My thinking is that the lower the bar, the quicker it drops down in the water column, the higher the bar, the higher chance you'll see it floating.

I made a zero-point batch with a 30-weight setting. The meter was at 25% and the pellet floated and did not dissolve.

I made a batch at 25/25/25 which seemed to reach 60% and averaged a score of 870. They were followed by a pleasingly bright orange glow.

Being a Mac person, I am new to Er'cana. Where am I supposed to be dropping the pellets? The silo, the Bahro cave, or both?

That 60% glow seems to be the ideal spot.

What we need to do is maximize the KI value, and minimize the cooking time. :D
Depends on the results you're after. If you toss 'em in the silo, it is supposed to contribute to the light level in the cavern eventually. There's not any point in putting them in the bahro cave (yet)
Yes you flushed that batch.
