For those still pondering the future of MUOL. Here's a question for you.

GameTap is currently only available in North America. URU Live is truly the only game they have with an international subscriber base.

Here's the question: If GameTap really were trying to break into the international market, why would they risk losing a pre-set subscriber base?

Oh, right... Ubi was foolish enough to let us go, why not GT too?...

Those are there under GT's agreement with Ubisoft. I doubt Cyan gets much of that licensing fee if they get any at all. We don't know what they signed away to Ubi any more than GT.

Of course they don't get it all, but I would be very surprised if they don't get some percentage. Nobody ever signs away EVERYTHING. If they're smart. But you're right that we don't know.

TURKEYS!

Perfect! Sharper goes bananas and carts down 3,000 live turkeys to Ae'gura. They run amok, attacking players and whitewashing the stone.

I remember an episode of the old TV sit-com WKRP. They wanted to do a Thanksgiving promo, so station manager Gordon had turkeys dropped...yes dropped...over a grocery store parking lot from a helicopter. The scene at the end is classic as we see Gordon return to the station covered with turkey feathers and looking confused and disconsolate and says:"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"

One of the funniest moments in TV history!!

I've forgotten the exact details, but I just remembered that the Cyan Legal web page mentions to contact them for Myst and Riven, so they've probably had the rights to those revert back to them.

I have heard through the grape vine that the
new PhyX engine has turned out to be on alot higher learning curve
than Cyan thought. this was after they had already recoded everything.
The problem is incompadibilities with the old animation scripts and sounds
that are tied to your avitar, to the new phyX game (the invirment your avi is in) code. so some new learning had to be done.
With that in mind, and for those who know the age of ahonohah (spelling)
It poses new phyX to be applyed, AND the fact that in parts of the age
does not adhear to the Normal phyX rules either. MAjor problems with this.
so Unless Cyan has got it figured out we definatly will not be seeing any
age that has none normal phyX any time soon.

Just thought I'd add that tid bit.

and not only do they have to do all of what was mentioned above, they also have to work out the old bugs (especially that nasty one that drops you out of the age nearly every time you try to take a ride), as much as I wanted to see Ahnonay last episode, it makes more sense to hold off on it for the end of the season because so many people want it. It's been one the the most anticipated ages and people have been crossing their fingers to get it next episode since I joined up in January. Next episode will be good I think, content wise. Now I just hope that the story blows me away (in a good way)

"Oh my god, they're turkeys!"

Destruction is coming. Find a turkey. Make a roast.
