At the end of LAHI's report "History of Prime Ages"

Log started a moment later:

[spoiler]Reteltee said:”I’ve been in touch with the DRC”

(09/04 05:41:41) Chat.log started...
(09/04 05:41:56) groath: I found yah guys!
(09/04 05:42:23) Scarlette: and??
(09/04 05:42:24) melodilynn: So, what is everyone doing?
(09/04 05:42:33) Reteltee: And I have confirmation that not only will we see Guild Pubs this Episode,
but there will be some form of access control

(09/04 05:42:33) Kerryth: Reteltee has an announcement
(09/04 05:42:42) LostOwl: Hi Melodi, Retel has an announcement
(09/04 05:42:46) Reteltee: What form, I do not know
(09/04 05:42:49) Grieyls: Access control?
(09/04 05:42:55) groath: Cool!

(09/04 05:43:38) Reteltee:This isn't infor I was actually GIVEN by the DRC per se
(09/04 05:43:43) Kerryth: This would be a first.
(09/04 05:43:45) groath: What kind of acces control i dont under stand that completly
(09/04 05:43:46) Grieyls: Well, we shall find out soon enough
(09/04 05:43:49) Reteltee: I....um....gleaned it
(09/04 05:43:54) Janine: perhaps access to members only?
(09/04 05:43:59) Old Watashi: age control?
(09/04 05:43:59) Grieyls: Oh? How so Ret?
(09/04 05:44:00) Scarlette: lol
(09/04 05:44:02) melodilynn doesn't understand access control
(09/04 05:44:13) Kerryth: But there are no "members" yet, exactly.
(09/04 05:44:17) Reteltee: Access control=limited access
(09/04 05:44:20) Scarlette: as in limiting who will be allowed into the pubs, if they are not members?
(09/04 05:44:24) groath: Oh oh!!!
(09/04 05:44:30) Reteltee: I don't know Scar
(09/04 05:44:33) groath: Ahhh....
(09/04 05:44:44) Kerryth: What are they thinking?
(09/04 05:44:47) Scarlette: lol that was all you gleaned huh?:
(09/04 05:44:50) Janine: well, will be interesting to see

(09/04 05:44:56) Butch: ANyone check the t-shirts for lattice RFID tags?
(09/04 05:44:57) Grieyls: I think I get it
(09/04 05:45:01) Scarlette: haha
(09/04 05:45:06) groath: Lol
(09/04 05:45:13) Scarlette: well ... soon... deception :)
(09/04 05:45:16) Reteltee: I REALLY wish I could tell you more
(09/04 05:45:17) groath: How are the maintaniers suits coming?
(09/04 05:45:17) melodilynn: So, you are going to have to be invited?
(09/04 05:45:21) Kerryth: ARe they limiting access to t-shirts?
(09/04 05:45:26) LostOwl: You have to pick a guild and stick to it, I guess
(09/04 05:45:28) Serephina: thanks Reteltee
(09/04 05:45:30) LostOwl shrugs
(09/04 05:45:32) Janine: he doesn't know Kerryth

(09/04 05:45:39) Scarlette: yes thanks :)
(09/04 05:45:40) Reteltee: YW Sere
(09/04 05:45:41) Grieyls: Don't think wearing a shirt will matter, not the support ones anyway as you can change over willy nilly in Kirel
(09/04 05:45:41) From Stephen in A Beginner's Bevin: Everybody come join us in Beginner's Bevin for Haruko's set!
(09/04 05:45:44) Reteltee: and Scar
(09/04 05:45:50) groath: Maintaniers suits? how are thoes coming along
(09/04 05:45:53) Kerryth: OK
(09/04 05:45:58) Reteltee: I don't know groath
(09/04 05:45:59) melodilynn: Maybe they will take those t-shirts in Kirel away
(09/04 05:46:06) melodilynn: then you only have what you already got
(09/04 05:46:09) Grieyls: Maybe, we shall see
(09/04 05:46:15) Serephina: nice of you to keep us informed of what you can, thanks

(09/04 05:46:24) Kerryth: What if you don't have one at all? Better get one, eh?
(09/04 05:46:26) groath: Yah thanks for the info
(09/04 05:46:31) Grieyls: Thanks for the info Ret
(09/04 05:46:33) anthroanne: we are happy that you are Ret!
(09/04 05:46:33) melodilynn is wondering who will be controlling the access
(09/04 05:46:34) Kerryth: Thanks, Reteltee.
(09/04 05:46:35) Scarlette: wow my stream is freaking
(09/04 05:46:38) Reteltee: It can be...tricky to maintain a .....diplomatic relationship with the DRC
(09/04 05:46:55) melodilynn is also wondering how it will be decided who controls the access
(09/04 05:47:13) anthroanne: oh my Ret... sorry it has been umm more difficult that anticiapted.
(09/04 05:47:13) Serephina: I imagine it is
(09/04 05:47:16) Grieyls wonders who will control the controllers who control the access
(09/04 05:47:18) IBnetweezel nods his head

(09/04 05:47:43) Kerryth wonders how much explorers will cooperate.

(09/04 05:47:56) Thend: Yes Reteltee, I had a question related to your 'surprise' over being appointed Guild Guy
(09/04 05:49:53) Reteltee: I was trying to share my Relto book with Thend....what did I miss?
(09/04 05:50:24) groath: what about the guild hall will that come along soon?

Seems perfectly sensible to me. How can a guild discuss guild specific information with strangers wondering in?

it means that some people, however they are, would be able to limit access to certain area of the game ?

I don't wanna be submitted to others goodwill to have access to things I'm paying for.

But you already do. Greeter tshirts are only avaiable to Greeters, who go through a selection process. This isn't really any different, in concept at least.

What mustn't happen is that the DRC or whoever show up in the Maintainers' (or whichever) guild pub where others can't get in. It;s bad enough trying to get into the city during the episodes

@EowynCarter

Remember GreyDragons statements? The Guilds will be "cool", and it will be a long while yet before Cyan can support a Guild system.

Add to that Reteltee's comments from the DRC along the lines of "Don't go mad with power....".

This makes me think inclusive and that Ged_UK is right, it is just to keep the pubs from being traffic jammed. :)

Well, it's just a tee shirt.

And actually, i would love to be a greeter, but their selection is just too long. Too bad, i could have helped. I would have been able to be there European time, as well as greeting my fellow French countrymen in french. But no way i go though this, to much a mess to bother with. :(

Think about it. You can only show support for one Guild at a time. So perhaps you can only go to one Guild Pub at a time.

How do you mean too long, out of interest? It took me 2 days from application to acceptance. After that is the training, but that's at your own pace anyway

Patience is a virtue. For Greeters, it's a requirement.

As I recall, it doesn't take long at all. Just a few minutes to apply, you set up a time for an interview (which takes probably 15 minutes at most), you attend an orientation session which is about a half hour, then you do your training time at your convenience. But, yes, it does require a tiny bit of patience since you don't just ask to be a member and *poof* you are.
