I just wanted to say Thank You! Texana, and all the contributors for maintaining and adding to this list. Your work is very much appreciated.

One thing that I find odd, is the overuse of spoiler tags. We're in an entire forum devoted to spoilers, under a topic which also states "Beware! Lots of Serious Spoilers!" and then people hide their entries under spoiler tags, some of which have spoiler tags in the spoiler tags. I certainly don't want to spoil anyone's enjoyment of the game, but we go a little too far. It's like putting up a sign in front of a field saying "DANGER! LAND MINES!", then putting a smaller sign in front of each mine and then a post-it note gingerly placed on top of the mine "Don't Touch!"

People just need will power, but I would never have spotted those hiking boots and I'm glad I knew about them because finding that spot again would be a nightmare.

I agree. We don't really need spoiler tags here. I sometimes use them for fun though

If someone comes to this thread and doesn't expect to be spoiled they are in for quite a shock  But that is their problem since the thread is well marked and its within the spoiler section. 8)

Counterargument: I generally want to know where something new is, and then go find out what it is myself. So I'd prefer a post -- even in this thread -- to say "New relto page in Wh'rehever ... (spoiler)Pinball machine(/)"

I like the old Infocom InvisiClues approach where each hint is more specific...

Belford, that's fine and I thought about it soon after I posted my comments. Some people want small nudges in the right direction rather than the whole solution staring them in the face when they go to look for help. Kind of like the old Sierra but mostly Infocom "Invisiclues" clue books. They were printed in invisible ink and the pen they included would reveal a clue at a time becoming increasingly obvious until the last clue would just be the solution to the puzzle.

When I saw a couple posts include spoiler tags hidden in other spoiler tags, I thought that was a little too overprotective.

EDIT: Holy crap GreyWolf! I just wrote the exact same thought and would have almost beat you to it if I hit Submit faster. That's freaky. But, oh the grand age of computer games that was infocom. It was just text but those adventures are etched in my mind more vividly than the big budget graphic ones that are made today. If any of you haven't played the Zork or Enchanter series, I implore you to download them, some are on Gametap, they were released to public domain years back. There's a very select group of people that would have the intelligence and patience to solve them and if you're reading these forums... YOU'RE IT!

Well the only reason I hide stuff in any spoiler tags at all is for people who wish to share something they've found without being spoiled themselves about something else.

I can see the initial spoiler tag a courtesy for those people. The rest of it... well thats a little too much.

Not to mention, that each new item also generates a thread or 2 of its own which gives hints. If people don't want to be spoiled, they can check those threads out instead.

Speaking of Minkata, I'd like to suggest including a link to my Minkata map/walkthrough, especially seeing how much Minkata info now appears in the OP. :D
