What if people get a new relto page..
If they add it there will come a new island with a house on the other side.
You can walk to there with a bridge :D

And what if on the other island where linking books to old ages like: Tohmana or J'nanin? :)

And it might make a nice In-Law suite. ;)

How about allowing others to build their own Reltos in your universe? And sharing your page with a neighbor would build a bridge between your Reltos. Or you could just wave to each other occasionally.

This has been discussed some already, here, but this is a fairly old thread from a month or two ago, and it's a couple of pages back. I don't mean to say that you should have seen it or anything, I'm just saying, if you want to see it, that's where it is.

A second island would be really cool, and probably necessary to have a ton more relto pages, which would be great. The idea of being able to see another person in their relto sounds cool too, and perhaps being able to visit them. If there are bridges between them, then each side needs a gate accessable by only the side that it is on, so that both gates need to be open in order to cross. Kind of like those sets of doors in hotel rooms where you can only open them from one side, and both need to be open in order to get through.

Also, please excuse the naive question, but what is Tomahna? I've heard it mentioned alot, and all I think I know is it's an age.

Direbo, in Myst V: End of Ages, has such bridges and gates.

I always thought the docks were for air-ships to travel around and visit other places or reltos. That would still requires some way of keeping ones relto private.

Thanks, Alahmnat.

If you don't want someone to visit you by airship, I think getting rid of your dock should do just fine. However, that would make it kind of hard to use your own airship then. Because if I was going to visit someone elses relto, I would want it so that no one else could visit mine while I'm gone. Maybe a gate to your dock or something like that.

I'd love to see old linking books. The more the merrier.

Um.. Actually, Tohmana is NEAR the cleft, not at it.

If I remember correctly, it's sort of near Stan's gas station

Yes, and Atrus was born in New Mexico.

Actually, the Cleft and the Lodge are part of the area the D'ni refer to as Tomahna, which in the broader sense is simply Earth's surface, but in the narrower sense, yes, it's the area now known as New Mexico.

See also Wikipedia's article on the county: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddy_County%2C_New_Mexico , which, in fact, mentions Uru. Carlsbad, location of Mysterium 2001, is also in the same county.

Where did everyone get this idea about airships, like they're some sort of inevitability?
