I've been trying for two days to access Uru and it comes up with the looking for a patcher update but it never starts downloading anything. I even left it running overnight with no luck.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?

My thought is to reboot if you have not already turned off your computer in the meantime. But check out this thread to see if it offers you a solution.

Thanks, I posted a message in that thread as I've tried rebooting and checking/turning off my firewall with no success.

I'm in the same boat as you! I can't get past the Live Update (Mac version) myself, I've chatted with GameTap and they said to submit a ticket here in Support they said they have no idea why its happening. I did submit a ticket and still have no reply from support -- I'm hoping someone gets back to me soon...

Lyssa, can you check that you've got both urulauncher.exe and uruexplorer.exe?

Yes, both those files are available. I even deleted the game and redownloaded it ... still won't get past checking for patcher update.

There is a tool on this forum, somewhere, to test your connection to the Cyan servers. I will check later and give you a link unless someone would like to beat me to it. That might help narrow down the problem.

Can you ping beta-file.urulive.com?

Open the command prompt and type: ping beta-file.urulive.com

Hiya, yeah I had this problem, it was just stuck there and didn't do anything, I ended up deleting it all and reinstalling it, (I'm new to this game too) but I found that I needed to copy the item into my applications folder and then the patcher update just started to move along =]

I hope this helps

Yes, it pings just fine, no lost packets, average 108 ms

Can you do a traceroute? At the command prompt type: tracert beta-file.urulive.com

FYI, MOUL uses port 14617. These checks will not show problems with a specific port.

1. 1 ms 1 ms 2 ms home [192.168.0.1]
2. * * * Request timed out.
3. * * * Request timed out.
4. * * * Request timed out.
