Hi all,

Just wanted to share a gamepad layout I've put together for the Logitech Profiler application. Just import the XML file attached. Due to URU not having a true FPS-style control scheme it took a bit of trial and error to get something that felt natural. Use the default key mapping in URU to use this layout.

  • In a nutshell, the left analog stick is the mouse, the X button is right click and the A button is left click. This means you can hold X (like in old school games) and look around with the left analog stick, then roll your thumb onto A (while still pressing X) to run around.
  • Since sidestepping and walking backwards are a bit awkward, these are controlled by the D-pad and the left trigger (think brake/reverse in a racing game).
  • Take Photo is on the right trigger as that's where the shutter button is on an SLR, and jump uses the right shoulder button as the clicky feel seemed to match the feel of the jump.
  • Your KI can be accessed by pressing up on the D-pad.
  • The Start button bring up the main menu as you'd expect, and Back and B buttons cancel out as per usual.
  • Holding the left shoulder button changes the X/Y/A/B buttons to secondary actions like creating journal, showing your relto book and creating a new marker.
  • The sensitivity of the Y-axis for mouse was turned down to match the speed of the X-axis movement. I'm not sure if this is based on screen aspect so you may need to adjust it on your computer.

I'm not sure if someone else has done this as I couldn't find anything in the forums, but here it is anyway :)
