Another thought - it may not help directly but might shine some light on what's happening: Run DxDiag.exe and tell us what information is given on the "Input" tab.

This may sound stupid... but can you bring up the touch onscreen keyboard and try typing with that?

Actually, weird as it may seem, that is a piece of the solution. I login as my avatar, then I open the touchscreen keyboard on the desktop, leave it there off on the side, and back to Relto window, and voila, my keyboard works in Relto.
I am going to try to disable it and see if that works. Not sure how to disable it yet, but if I can we'll see. I will keep you posted.

Also, might that have anything to do with the fact that sometimes the update at the start can take 15 seconds and other times as much as 7 minutes?

Yes, the loading screen at the beginning can take a while. 15 seconds is quite fast actually, for me it usually takes a minute. 7 minutes is a bit extreme though.

FWIW, I recently had some "fun" playing Uru Live on my iPad via Remote Desktop, and there I had the same issue that I could only type in Uru using Windows's onscreen keyboard, and not with the iPad's (onscreen or external, both of which work fine normally). Since in that case I'm also playing Uru with a touch screen (yes, Windows recognizes remote touch screens as such) it's possible that this is related. Really long shot though. :? Unfortunately I have no real Windows touch device to test with.

I really meant what devices it was saying DirectX was finding attached.
