Hi, in order to make sure the game is running the best it can, i prefer to forward game ports in my router.
I have run many searches, but cant see to find what ports uru uses, i appreciate your help.

There is no point in forwarding ports in order to make the game run better. It's nonsens. Somebody has told you taradiddle about networking.

The Port forwarding fetaure on your router is for INCOMING connection but the client software creates an OUTGOING connection. You can't predict which local port the client software binds to and you don't have to care as long as your router and firewall doesn't restrict outgoing connections.

Forwarding is for unsolicited incoming traffic. That's not what you want because the Uru client does not listen for a connection. It makes an outgoing connection to the Uru servers. You only need to open an outgoing port to allow traffic through it. According to TCPView which I have open during an Uru Live session right now, it's port 14617.

mainly im just trying anything i can do to limit service error 6 crashes.
As far as i understand the error 6 is due to the game thinking i have a shotty connection, after the crash my connection is still running at full speed.
I have reinstalled the game and disabled the firewall and antivirus.
My broadband connection is fast enough.

All i can think is that its either my router, or maybe something happens to the connection between Australia and the US

Any ideas?

My first question was going to be if you are on the other side of the world from the Uru servers. Yes, latency is a big problem. They're working on it, is all I can say. Try getting on when ping times are at a minimum. Port forwarding or anything else on your end will not help at all unless you have Quality of Service options that put you on a faster line (i.e. land-based fiber instead of satellite or conventional copper).

Net6 is nothing more than "You just lost your connection to the servers".

That's all.

It happens to me in WoW more often than it happens to me in Uru.

Net6 will happen the most often when you idle for a long time, but other things (like being insanely far away from the server, or having a terribly LOSSY connection) can cause it too.

Thanks for the help,
i guess the only way to avoid the VERY constant error 6, is if they make the game more accommodating, or if Australia moves closer to the US
