Shorah Everyone,

I've decided to post monthly calendar wallpapers on my blog (http://uruexplorer.blogspot.com/). As it states there, I'm open to thoughts about which ages should appear for certain months. I'll try and post each months calendar wallpaper early within the first week of each month.

As always, comments and suggestions are welcome here or on the blog itself. I hope you enjoy the works that will be posted there.

Sincerely,

Thanks Almak, very nice idea.
Just a suggestion: to place the calander at the right side of the picture.
Now the icons on my desktop are hiding the calender.

Krazzed and veralun,

I'll take that into consideration. I had planned, according to each picture, to move the calendar portion to different sides and corners depending on what the actual Age photo was. I'll work on moving the calendar portion for January to the right side and re-post it in a day or two.

My thanks for the input!

Sincerely,

I'll never remember to look for them though. I think one idea would be to feature a shot from a completely unknown angle, just recognisable. I remeber that the EDER fishpond was much more interesting than the set of stepping stones across it suggested - stuff like that.

I have made the requested modification to the wallpaper and moved the calendar portion from the top left of the image to the top right. I have posted both versions on my blog (http://uruexplorer.blogspot.com/).

Thank you for your input. These creations are for you, the URU fans, so keep letting me know what you like and want.

Sincerely,

Hey, Almak, your calendar idea is great... thanks... Image

As of your Uru Wallpaper I cannot offer you any Adobe-Plugin, but two wonderful programs
you should probably download and try... This is what could be possible with those ones...

Image

The program for the above solution can be downloaded here...
It is called Reflet (click on left frame) and very simple in use... just load a picture, add the waves/reflections and you're done...
Edit: forgot to mention that it mirrors the whole picture, so you had to cut it into halves and use the upper one...

The program for the below posted solutions is highly customisable/adjustable, so with a little extra
time and effort you'll get better results... lol... just wanted to show you briefly what was possible with
this one, that you can download here...

Have fun and thanks again, Almak... :D

janaba,

These are fantastic. Thank you for pointing me to the programs. I will have to experiment as I have time.

Also, I have some screen savers I created a few years ago posted at http://www.uruexplorers.com/about/downloads.php. They are older and could use a re-do. As time permits I may update these and create some others. My problem lies in the fact that Google Blogsites don't allow executables to be posted from their sites, hence I have nowhere to place them for download unless I set up a website of my own.

Thanks again for the links to the new tools.

Sincerely,

I'm glad that you both like the programs and find them to be useful... :D

As of the executables (those screensavers are wonderful though I didn't hear
any music), why don't you upload whatever executables to Rapidshare or any
similar service and just share the link like on the D'ni Explorers Guild...

I myself upload everything to my Mediafire account and had no problems with
that one by now... On Mediafire e.g. you could upload all screensavers into one
folder and share the whole thing or you share each separately as you like and all
with a single link... You have unlimited space over there, there's just one limit set
to the single file uploaded (100 Mb)... :P

This one is an example for what I mean with the folder...
I've uploaded the Nick's Office in 3D/D'ni history files plus a few screenies...

But there are other services like this, maybe better ones, of course... :)
