I've started a new little project I'm calling Myst: Interactive Fiction Edition. It's directly inspired by Zarf's earlier experiment here on the MO:UL forums, Plum Lake Hilltop.

It's the original game Myst as an online text adventure. You folks post a command in the comments, I post the results as a new entry. Lather, rinse, repeat.

If you know Myst, the puzzles will be easy, but I have some surprises planned: I'm going to retcon some things that RAWA and Cyan have declared were "artistic license" in the original game. Some of these surprises should come out very soon (assuming I keep any kind of audience at all :) ).

I'm also in the process of figuring out exactly how some of the visual and aural puzzles are going to work. Part of the reason for this experiment is to get the community's help and, ultimately, shape this thing into an actual, playable, distributable piece of IF.

Some links: The home page · FAQ · The introductory post · The beginning of the game

Cheers!
