It's hard to judge one's contribution:

you can contribute by establishing a forum or making marker games or DJing or telling stories or... simply by doing the most important of them all: giving money to Cyan thru donations.

It can be very angrysome sometimes but you cannot expect receiving a medal of honour by your degree of contribution whatever it is. Maybe the less talkative explorer, the one that no one talk to because he/she hides in a corner gives more than huge amounts of money to Cyan to keep that server alive.

No one can knows exactly to which level his/her contribution is "important" so please do not use this statement again as it is & will be perceived like conceit by others in the community. :wink:

I wonder why Cyan put the actual terrain you walk on 1' 9" above the plane you attach the Walkable component to :shock:

The point is that expectations hasn’t changed and are possibly even lower, now that Cyan has one new-ish (buggy) game out and another in development for the next ~2 years. Anything new that requires changes in the game data happens in the shards; therefore, shards are good for MOULa. Bots are a very positive innovation, but didn’t require any changes to the game files.
Unfortunately, the aforementioned expectations means that these new things end up on the back back burner most of the times.

In any case, what makes this game and its community interesting, perhaps unique, is that in a way it survived by changing its scope from that of a MMOG to a sort of themed virtual world (how much deliberately, I don’t know). Becoming a “glorified chat room”, or “kind of a social network”, in the process is not necessarily a bad thing: a community needs to communicate. Adherence to idealised conceptions of what it “should be”, most likely is.
Under this perspective, reports of MOULa’s death are greatly exaggerated.

Thanks I wasn't sure one way or another, I always did like his sense of timing and his unique comments :mrgreen:

On a lighter side, the advantage of open source is their is more then one version of Uru live to choose from. Does any one know if these updates have been submitted to one of the other Shards I think their is about 3 or 4 public versions of open source Uru live and a few others, something for every body perhaps.
