Whipped this up last night and this morning...

I would love to read this. Unfortuantely the script font you've chosen to use has made it incredibly difficult for me to do so. It looks interesting it really does but it's also lacking a little continuity. I'm referring to the mouse drawn images that are using a thicker nib size than the other drawings you included, especially the map. I'm sure this is just a first draft and I hope this criticism is contructive.

Oh wow you actually replied! I could always try darkening and thickening the font, and yes the drawings are a little inconsistent. This requires me taking out my scanner from the depths of my room and integrating some new drawings in lieu of the photo-shopped ones, but I'll probably do that tomorrow.

Hmm, regarding the font, I would suggest using an aged paper background rather than fabric (linen by the looks of yours). The cloth texture competes too much with the font, which makes reading difficult. Plus, it's very unlikely a book would be written on cloth anyway!

There are a number of nice texture sites out there where you can find something to use.
