Some snippets of news:

Since the announcement of the cavern closing, the number of GoMa forum members has nearly doubled. (Welcome everyone!)

Explorer age inspections are continuing. If you're interested in having a go yourself, this post on the GoMa forum will help you to get started.

On Saturday 15 March, 13:00 KI time, a group of writers and maintainers will be meeting in the cavern to discuss setting up a joint bug-tracking system for explorer-made ages. The meeting, which is open to all, will be held in a public hood (possibly Dot:'s) so that visitors can join in the discussions.

Grogyan from the Guild of Writers has organised a Rapid Age Development competition (see Grogyan's post for links). Maintainers are involved with this in two ways:

1 Jishin, Nynaveve and PhilippH worked with team leader Andy Legate to write an Age for the competition -- it's called Zephyr Cove, and is intended to be an R&R area for maintainers (see Andy's post for details).

2 Corvus, ametist and I are working with writers Aloys, Lontahv and Zander as a team of judges for the competition. Entries will be tested for stability, quality, economy, content, creativity, functionality and aesthetics, and given an overall score. Results are due by the coming weekend.

To ensure maintainers have a place to meet online after the cavern closes, some of us have been helping to set up a branch of GoMa in There. The new group gained over 20 members in just over a week. GoMa HQ in There is on Tyr Plateau, and an outpost of Camp Bravo (a training ground for Maintainers) is situated opposite it.

So there's lots going on. Do join us if you would like to be involved in these or any other projects. Everyone is welcome!

The meeting will be in Dot:'s hood (note the colon). I'll make it public so that all can attend.

Nynaveve, GoMa webmaster, has put together this agenda:

Quote:
1. Age bug tracking -
--Which program do we want to use, Trac or Bugzilla or ???
--What are the pro's and con's of each program? This should include both installation and usage.
--Should it include areas for GoW Plugin, ULM, PlasmaShop/PRPTool, PRPExplorer, etc, feature requests and suggestions and bugs?
--Who is going to host this and maintain it? (Writers/Maintainers)

2. ULM -
--What for/how will it be used in the future? (Recent discussion of archived Ages, Maintainer "approved" Ages, and WIPs.)
--Who will maintain this? (Writers/Maintainers)
--What additional features would we like to see in the next release? (Again, recent discussion of various types of Ages, and http upload options)
--Can the ULM be linked with the Age bug tracking system? (If so, these both will probably need to be hosted on the same server)

3. Age Registration-
--Should we start our own list of prefixes?
--Where should this list be hosted? (With the ULM?)
--Where should the list start? (10000+ ?)
--Do we want to port over the old list from Alcugs and keep it for "reference"?

As a reminder, the meeting is being held this Saturday, March 15th, at 13:00KI time. Location is to be in Dot:'s Hood. She'll make it public so anyone can join the meeting.

If any Maintainers want to leave after we have covered the first two points, you may feel free to do so. The third topic on the agenda is mainly for the Writers, as they are in the middle of discussions about what to do with the Age prefixes sign-up sheet.
