I have recently downloaded URU Library Manager from the Alcugs site so I could explore Ahra Pahts. The site mentioned installing Microsoft v2 .net files to run the manager. I got an error message trying to install the files. Long story longer, MS knowlege base advises to manually remove .net v2 and reinstall. The library manager installed fine but won't run.

My question is: Is this the best way to fix things? Its several pages of stuff to do. I am willing to jump in and do it.
I just want to get a second opinion before I start ripping and tearing....

I would love to explore some of the ages people have written!

Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!

Thanks and Shorah all :D

Hi Vera,

The best place to ask for help would be at one of these two forums...

Guild of Maintainers Forums
http://guildofmaintainers.org/Forum/

Guild of Writers Forums
http://forum.guildofwriters.com/

These two Guilds have initiated those projects.

It's always good to have NET Framework many programs depend on them (almost all programs written in visual studio)

i have/had NET Framework 1.0 , 1.1 , 2.0 , 3.0 and now 3.5

You can find downloadlinks and tips/trix here
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/sv-se/netfra ... 9263(en-us).aspx

in the top orange bar you have downloadlinks
install them and after that go to windows update becaus there been some hotfixes to them after release

oh and try to make a repair of the NET files before removing them

Start button
controlpanel
Add remove programs
Control panel icon "Add remove programs"
Find "Microsoft Net Framework 2.0" and click the change /remove button
mark the radio button "repair" and click next

best way to get it is open IE and goto tools then windows update or start button then windows update may make it easier to get .net for most.

Thanks goofy, Lmf and Artic_Wagon for the help. It seems that .net 2.0 is messed up pretty good. I contacted MS tech support and per there instructions, am going to use Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to wipe out .net 2.0 install files. Then I will reinstall. I will post the results of my adventures. Not as much fun as exploring ages or the cavern!

Cheers
