Sorry to interrupt but now I get it.
You misread it. It reads URU live, as in 'online' opposed to 'offline'. Not URU Alive as opposed to dead. It's quite inanimate, you know. It can't die.
So to answer the real question:

Yes! URU is offline.

A bit of a bummer for some of us I can tell you.

All that has happened is that Cyan has opened their own shard. Uru is still just as dead as it was a month ago, whatever extent of deadness that was.

There are different versions of "alive." Dustin, what is yours?

One version says that Uru is alive because it is around in an online form we can play together. Another says that Uru is not alive because there is no prospect of new content. However you choose to define it, I don't think it's "just as dead as it was a month ago."

It might be that Cyan has set up their own shard so they can work the bugs out of the system so when they do go open source you will have a more stable system to set up. It might be the first step, and it make sense for them to have their own shard to start off with does it not

Whilyam, you know that it was already around in on online form people could play together, and that there was already new content on a monthly basis. And you know that I can't go into details without my post being deleted here.

...just because all the other 2010's posts didn't really answer the thread's question: NO, URU is definitely not dead. I can tell by the lack of sleep I'm experiencing since last week...

This is actually incorrect. At this point, yes you are correct that cyan is not in development of new content, but if you look at the road map, They do say they WANT to be able to make new Cyan created content, but sadly they cant plan for that yet, as the money just wasn't there. Realistically things are looking far better for uru and further development now that the shard is open, Just with all of the donations that have gone through! They expected a few hundred people to try and get in, but thousands came. If we've surpassed cyan's expectations that much, there is more potential.

Oh and next stage of more is open sourcing, which means New content made by the community.
So realistically Uru Live is very much Alive, its simply developing now.

Of course, and those places are still (in my opinion) the pinnacle of community work so far. But this is why I'm curious what your interpretation of "life" in this case is. In my opinion, those places ensure Uru will never die as anyone with a passion can begin the game again. It was fantastic to see other people in Bimevi for once, something I hope to see in MOULa. But why do you consider Uru as dead as it was before the announcement?

I think the basic idea.... is the possibility for MOUL to be seen by the mass population that wants to easily see it dead? That in my mind includes the user created content. I'd love to see the user stuff with other ppl but I am not going to go hunt down a special method to see it.

I don't think it's dead. I think it's on the road to fruition.
