I could not find a free download of 3ds max7, but decided to buy a book with the 30 day free trial in it from amazon (3ds max bible)

Thanks cyan for the binaries.

Raniass'i since you got it working, once you are in, is it clear how to do age creation/exporting ages to uru?
Any documentation would help at this point.

First just want to say I have it working with Max 7.

Did you solve the Age Description Manager error, or did you not encounter it at all?

I added an article about the plugin to the Guild of Writers Wiki:

http://guildofwriters.com/wiki/MOULa_3DSMax_Plugin

I captured what is known to date about the plugin. Feel free to add to it when you discover more workarounds or learn how to use its features.

I just installed it on a trial version of Max 7, but I'm getting:
Quote:
DLL <C:\3dsmax7\plugins\PlasmaMax.gup> failed to initialize.
Error code: 126 - The specified module could not be found.

I looked at C:\3dsmax7\plugcfg and there is no PlasmaMAX2.ini file.
So I went ahead and created one filled with the content Chogon posted, with the directory setting pointing to C:\3dsmax7\plugcfg\
I also copied all the MOULa DLLs in C:\3dsmax7\plugins
And I'm still getting the error. I don't see what I am missing..

Could anyone of you with the plugin correctly installed post the content of his/her PlasmaMAX2.ini file?

I can see what some things do by looking at the plugin, but actually using any of it is another story all together. Sorry I have yet to figure out how to use any of it.

On the Max 7 install, yes I get the Age Description Manager Error.

Aloys: try copying the DLLs to someplace listed in your PATH variable. Alternatively, add your MOULagain directory to PATH, log out/in again, and try the plugin again.

What PATH variable?

What I did was just to create a .bat file so I didn't have to mess with copying binaries or anything...

Code:
SET PATH=%PATH%;G:\Games\Uru Live
3dsMax.exe

Then just launch that instead of the normal shortcut... And of course, edit the G:\Games\Uru Live to wherever your MOULa really is ;)

EDIT: By the way, anyone figure out how to add a "Location Object" yet? I fear it might be in this deadly Age Description Manager, but if not, I'd like to know where it is so I can try me some exportin' ;)

I think it probably has to do with the Age sequence prefix, and maybe other required settings like that?

Yes, I'm sure it does... Hence why I wanted to find it ;)

Paradox pointed out where it was (I was blind apparently) in the Component Manager, but it looks like we still need the Age Description Manager for it to be useful...

For people who wish to test their 3dsmax Age in Uru(i.e. offline Uru), go to http://forum.guildofwriters.com, and discuss it there.
