Ah, programmer humor

Glad to see they kept a sense of fun as they coded the morass of twisted bytes that Uru surely has become after 10 years of twists and updates without a full-over rewrite..

Say, can this plugin just handle ages? Can it do clothing? Can it import stuff? Those of us without max7 wonder..

Looks like M. Butcher has been threatening a couple of his colleagues. :? (Does he still work at Cyan anyway?)

That was an unexpected evening of entertainment. Thanks Chogon!

Testing the exported files aside, I can confirm that these binaries work with Max 8. They will however need to be recompiled for 9 and up.

Thank you, and have a lovely day. :D

There are couple entries in the menus mentionning clothing. It is unknown however how much work is required to make that work, or if there is work to be done outside of Max.. (Python, Vault/SDL manipulations etc). It is too early to answer a number of questions..

To the best of our knowledge it cannot import Ages. This tool was originally created by Cyan for their own use, and why would they create a tool to import Ages, when they had all the original files? ;)

There is no import. Cyan never deals with exported data directly. Think of Max files as their source code, and PRP files as the compiled output. Max is their entire build process.

As for clothing, it can be created, but without an example we would have no idea where to put the mesh, how big, etc. It also seems to take multiple meshes which are combined to allow for "scaling" (avatar size).

How does it function with newer versions of Max? I have a legal (educational) copy of 2010. Also anyone who makes a plugin for Maya will be my absolute best friend in the whole world :D

It doesn't work at all with Max 2009. If you look back a page or two you will see my post on this. So I would say it don't work at all with 2010.

Though PyPRP has support for that, doesn't it?

I believe PyPrp has limited support for importing ages into blender, yes. AFAIK, it is still mainly an export tool though.
