Online status query

Is there any way to check the online status of individual players over the KI-IDs? Thus, for example, it works with ICQ?

Given a KI ID, you can add someone to your buddy list with "/addbuddy <id>". If you bring up the main KI window and select the player name in the buddy list, it will tell you if they're online and in which age.

I didn't mean the ingame option! I have played URU since beta in 2003 and I know them, really! :wink:

Sorry. I misunderstood the question. You might want to try re-wording it... I did not get you are looking for something like SL's Friends Online web page.

Paradox is working on something that may let you check player status from outside the game... other than that I don't know of anything that will let you check player status.

I usually Tweet my in Cavern status. Presumably we could search #KI...number here... on Twitter if enough people learned used the format...

There were many tools for finding out who's online in the 0lden days. Here's one still up. Doesn't work but shows what was done in the past. There were a couple of programs developed that did the same thing too. It was never a problem to find where your freinds were hanging out across many UU Shards. Those were the days. Hopefully we can get back to some of that. :wink:

There is a proposal for "KI Desktop Widget" being discussed, which is probably more akin to what Mc Fly was asking about. Whether it gets off the ground or not within the current MOULagain version is maybe open to question, but it seems like a probability for Open Source.

Now that would be cool having a MOULa 'KI' 'out of the box' messanger proggy!

Which would tell you whos online and MOULa server status along with any ergent messages
from Cyan about updates or server outages and events.
