So Cyan's new game "Firmament" might be VR exclusive. I made this poll with that in mind. That is we can see if this community is the demographic for that game.

Missing: "I have no plans to obtain a VR system (ever)." ;)

I have no particular desire to wear a strap-on head wart for any purpose.

In my case the cost of a VR headset vs the amount of games that would interest me to run through it doesn't justify me wanting to purchase one. Not to mention potential motion sickness that would come along with it. I'd hate to spend hundreds of dollars just to find out I can only play a game for a half hour, if that...

Yeah, that too. I'm not a "hard core gamer" so I don't have the incentive that they might. And that may actually apply to a good number of MOULa players, I suspect - they seem to be a different demographic. So, your poll might have been more informative had it been on a real "gamer's site" :?

No, I specifically was interested in testing the Myst Community. The results(which could change) indicate that this community is not the target audience for a VR exclusive game. If that is Firmament, I hope Cyan has a plan to get the attention of the correct demographic.

Even to most who would consider themselves hardcore gamers, VR isn't something that's in scope unless they have the money to invest in it along with the games. And even then you don't have quite the same library you can obtain with a typical gaming setup. Currently in my Steam library I have over 500 games and only 8 are VR capable, but not exclusive. Five out of the seven titles in my library are indie games too, companies know they can make more money if they include both modes.

As an example it would be interesting to see how many people played the VR version of Obduction vs flat on say the Steam Obduction forums.

As someone who is prone to dizzy spells I would have to think carefully about getting a vr system just to play one game. A desktop version would be preferable to me.

...wait, there's a new Cyan game??

Lloyd Woodall made a post that effectively said there was no "plan", it would all depend on what a publisher asks for. The current demo that is being touted around for the upcoming Developer Conference is VR only, but that's likely because it naturally attracts more interest just now and I suspect that Cyan feel they've got some knack with it now that they can use to their advantage in trying to pitch the game.
