Winter Holidays of Renaissance Europe
A Cavern Choir concert

Sunday, December 16, 2007
2:00pm EST / 7:00pm GMT
Eder Delin, GameBoomer's Bevin

The Renaissance saw an explosion of innovation in all of the fine arts, music chief among them. Composers across Europe explored new expressive possibilities and created exquisite music for their patrons, for their nation, and for their faith. The Cavern Choir presents songs from the period both familiar and rarely performed, in celebration of the winter holidays. Our selection ranges across the European continent, displaying diverse musical styles and traditions, and represents the three major faith traditions for which choral music was written during the period: Catholicism, Protestantism, and Judaism. Come join us as we bring holiday cheer to the Cavern with our rich sound and exciting repertoire! Reserve your ticket now for a concert not to be missed!

Some reviews of our debut concert, A Lover's Complaint:

"The choir certainly brings 'class' to the Cavern!"

"In terms of the singers' talent, the performance was impervious to harm!"

"That was absolutely amazing. When I started listening to it, my mom had my little sister pause a movie so they could listen too."

Reserve your ticket before December 12! We look forward to seeing you at our concerts!

Here's a quick link right to their first concert: A Lover's Complaint

You guys sound great! I would like a "ticket" but if I can't make it, would I be able to return it, or to give it to someone else? (I have no idea how your "tickets" work in Uru!)

Hey all! Interest is really building in these concerts so be sure to get your tickets before they are all gone!

Pigbristles - You can find out about how the tickets work by following the link to the Cavern Choir site in the first post. I believe they are non-transferable.

Thanks for the interest and support, everyone. We've been working really hard on this music since August and can't wait to share it with you all. We also have a MySpace page, if anyone is interested. http://www.myspace.com/thecavernchoir

Arg :(

Just like their debut concert, this one is going to be going on while I'm at Church...

In the future, could you vary what days/times you have your concerts? Or even better, have "encore" concerts? I realize it's hard to get all the members of a group together at once, especially w/a bigger group, but please try to do what you can :)

All the concert files will be available online for later listening, just like last time. Veralun should also be recording the whole thing for CCN.

I'm sorry you won't be able to see us "live", but it's not easy to find a date and hour when people from all over the US and Europe can be online at the same time. Given the virtual nature of the whole thing, it wouldn't make much sense to make a live appearance with only half of the Choir present.

Domareh sent me a PM, asking if I could broadcast the music for the concert. I replied that I could, but have not heard anything back. Given that it once took a month for a PM here to arrive, I'm posting here too. I can do the broadcast, although the fourth iteration might have to be automatic as I'm recording a concert in the afternoon. Let me know what you'd like to do.

I'm so glad to hear that, LC. My family is having Christmas dinner on Sunday, although I thought I might be able to broadcast from my brother's computer. I haven't been able to talk with him.

And, Veralun won't be the only person filming. The Guild of Messengers discussed the situation at the last meeting... several of us are going to film. At the end, we might conspire to edit together a single video... we'll see :) Veralun was in on the discussion.
