Sheesh! I leave the forums for a while and come back to this??
Last time I logged into the forums I read about how Cyan was going to go forward with MO:RE. My timing is terrible.

Anyway, this quote got me thinking:

mszv wrote:
...Then, Gametap cancels Uru. So now, Cyan has to find other development work. They've also gone into another business, the software testing business - don't know when that happened. So, they have 2 lines of business, a software testing business, and a software development business. On the game development side, they do a small game - the redoing of that sweet kids game. Right now, all we know is that they are doing a version of Myst for the iphone. We do know that the game development side of the business is small in numbers. We don't know if Cyan has people paying them to do other game development projects. I don't think they are, but I don't know for sure...

Is there any place where I can find a full list of products and services that Cyan is selling that would make them money directly? I don't mean a link to an eBay auction for RealMyst. I mean links to Amazon.com (not their resellers but actual items that will make Cyan money) Barnes and Noble, Fanista, etc.

I think it would be a good idea to start a list. If anyone would like to contribute links they find I'll keep re-editing the next post under this one at least once a day (and as work permits). If any Cyan employee can confirm that Cyan still makes royalties off these retailers' links I'd appreciate it.

By the way, a big HELLO to my long lost Uru family. Sorry I was away for these past few months!

What games in the Myst series above work in Vista. Personally I'm on the mac side, and have an old enough mac to play everything OK. I'm thinking of buying a for example Exile as a x-mas gift.

Rusty, this item isn't really sold by Amazon. They're sold by resellers so I don't think that Cyan would directly make any money off this. However... Man, that looks like a nice boxed set!

Myst 3 and 4 were not done by Cyan, so if they get a Royalty for their influence and Rand's appearances, it may be small, but maybe I am wrong about that.

I have purchased all of the games and books in all configurations. . . .and I even have the Primo guides which I purchased later to complete the collection. I am pretty sure that those are also not a huge income for Cyan, would be nice to know if they do get a piece of the pie on them.

Hey Mystdee. If I wanted to make sure that the most amount of money possible were going to the people at Cyan, I'd probably purchase their new Cosmic Osmo game (which I did last night :D )

I would assume that the royalties for everything else would just decrease over time

Why is not URU-ABM on sale in the stores?

The Publishers make more money with more direct sales.

I had a previous problem with buying Secret Files: Tunguska not available
anywhere near where I live. I had to buy from Amazon.

Uru CC is not even available at Amazon.ca in Canada.

It would be nice if we could get a new "source" in Canada.

The Ubisoft link is also "dead".

What version of amazon.com do you get? You might be able to get ABM as part of a compendium, similar to what we can get from Ubisoft here (UK).
