Ahh, but IE 6 doesn't work fine. For end users, perhaps; for web developers it is a huge pain to keep supporting an eight-year-old browser whose rendering engine is hopelessly broken.

Quite true;
Even IE7 is a pain sometimes, though less than IE6 trustfully.

I have to accept the message at work. We won't be upgrading to IE 7. (I have at home).

Ah, Microsoft and their ever changing web standards. :roll:

I'm just glad I get to stay within the reliable confines of Flash development. Well, mostly reliable.

Microsoft does not handle web standards, web standards are handled by the W3 Consortium.

It is unfortunate though, that Microsoft seems to ignore standards and implement their ideas rather than internationally agreed standards upheld by other browsers including Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, and Opera.

I do like the new design. It gives the feeling that "the stream is flowing again".

I have to use IE 6 at work, because we are required by federal law to have a filter on our computers, and our filter does not like IE 7 at all. I may have to break down and try Firefox.

A question for all the rest of you with IE 6. Do you just have URU in the middle of the top of the page? My computers at home have the proper Myst Online: Uru Live. But this one with IE 6 has just URU, ever since the morning of the change, and the forum will not save my log-in.

You will wonder why you every stuck with IE for so long if you do. Tabbed browsing rocks and I use Greasemonkey scripts religiously.

Sadly, they are right. I used to use IE...then I broke down and used Firefox because IE and AVG8 didn't agree on my computer. Still wonder why I didn't change sooner, lol.

I hate to admit it... I have fallen in love with Chrome... surfing was never so fast and even the sites look more vibrant and alive, somehow. Never said I lacked imagination... :lol:

Firefox and Safari all the way, baby. (Life of a Mac user: we couldn't use IE even if we wanted to, and, uh...we don't.)

I love the refreshed site, and that glimpse of the trailer is very much making me want to hike on back and hang out with Zandi for a while.... ;)

I had an old MacOS9 with a mac-version IE on it.

But then again that was from the old days when IE was actually half decent. :P

i appreciate the points made about the browser and the notice that we get to see if we use IE6.... however it might be nice to have a less obtrusive notice. but it is a tiny matter in the face of the wondefulness of the return of MOUL. For those who felt llike rubbing in their points with a little extra elbow, well, that is your right. Just think twice about it next time if you are at the other end of a issue that is really a matter of courtesy and i appolgize of my post was overly forceful. There are, as some have stated, some of us who have to remain with 6, and since no one else sees that notice assumably, then it is only to us that an adjustment might be a kindess. i will edit my post and wish everyone a nice day.

I still have a working copy of IE 5.2.3 on my Mac. It was bundled with OS X until Safari came along.
