Saturday Memorial and Welcome Home at Kahlo Pub

The Guild of Healers is sponsoring a Memorial and Welcome Home gathering at the Kahlo Pub. This is a casual gathering that will allow explorers to come together and remember those who have left us. It is also, in a way, a chance to welcome them home. There will be two sessions, each up to an hour long, during which people can drop by on their way, stay for a while, talk or not, and just be with others in the community.

Session times: 11:00am Cavern Time (1:00pm EST, 18:00GMT?)
6:00pm Cavern Time (8:00 EST, midnightGMT?)

We'll have a brief few words to welcome everyone (including those who have passed on) and ask whether anyone would like to speak. Throughout the hour, we'll let newcomers know they can say a few words if they'd like or not. We have no expectations as to size or actual duration of these gatherings, but there will be members of the GoH present for the full hour. There is no pressure on anyone to speak.

We'll circulate a KImail beginning today as well.

Everyone is welcome.

This a wonderful idea but rather than filling up peoples' KI with mail that could be considered spam, you should post a message on the neighbourhood imagers.

cave explorer, I am certain someone will keep a chatlog, and I will also mention it as we start gathering at each session.

ces, I don't, as a rule, pass on a KImail unless someone asks for one or they tell me it is OK to give it to them. There is a notice posted on the Healers Hood imager. The question is, will the GoH Hood appear on the Nexus list so a passer-by would go into the hood to see that notice? 'tis the dilema of all the public Hoods, methinks. :/

Thanks to all of you who have been supportive of the Healers sponsoring this kind of event. I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow.

I think it is wonderful...and will definetly try to be there...if anyone else speaks about Wolfie and Jahuti, great ..if not i may..but it is a special chance to honour the fallen and welcome us all back.

There are many memories of people who have been with us and cannot be here now. It is good to remember and honour them and all of us for this continuing miracle.

I am getting a wee inkling in my dense brain that we might actually have quite a lot of folks stopping by. Not only is this a wonderful testament to our community, it may also pose quite a problem if the city is full. So first, let me apologize in advance if you are unable to get in to the city. Second, let me propose that we have a third and fourth session should these be necessary.

So, here is the plan
11:00 Cavern Time: First session begins.
12:00 Cavern Time (Optional if the city has been full)

6:00pm (18:00) Cavern Time Second Session
7:00pm (19:00) Cavern Time (Optional)

I would rather add sessions than move to the Healers' Hood or another instance, because this allows newcomers to get to know our community, and because explorers who didn't know about the memorial will still be able to stop by. And, of course, people can continue to stop by as they do already, in between sessions.

I said it during the service and I'll say it again, we have got to be the best community around to do this. It was really touching to see so many people gathered there. I never knew any of the names adorning that list, but I felt so much love in that little hallway I was really tearing up in my chair.

Thanks to everyone that organized the service, and special thanks to everyone that came. Someone will come along with chat logs, and until then, here's a couple pictures I took of the service.
