I just noticed that the Kadish Gallery is now completely open, ie the barriers at the top of the stairs have disappeared in both the 'hood and shared city instances. When did that happen?

Don't know exactly when it happened, but I'm glad the barriers are down. Always thought it was illogical to have them up when there were avies walking around on both sides of the doors.

The barrier in the Gallery was placed there in response to an exploit to circumvent the city population cap. Should the DRC return to the cavern and begin making appearances in the city, I expect we will again see the barrier put back in place. At least now some of the marker missions will be easier :) .

That must have been this morning (GMT). I noticed the door lights were brighter as I went past, but I didn't go in and check. The barriers were still up last night though.

Excellent!

Wow, I guess this is what comes with Cavcon 4... a nice little stealth update by Cyan.

I guess they've forgiven us for that.

I, uh, mean, us in general, explorers. Yeah.

Still, about time. I was commenting about it before.. it was a bit annoying because quite simply they fixed the problem with the gallery by turning off sharing by the book there. At the time the gallery was used because it was the only city link that could be used to access Ae'gura proper (the rooftops can't be jumped from). However.. when they thumped a big bahro stone in all the hoods, they kinda threw all ability to lock the population out the window. I imagine it's also why they started to use the other ages than ae'gura for the events... :?

OMG YAY!

... too bad I've already finished my marker missions.

Still YAY! Thanks, Cyan! That'll make getting around much easier. :o

I will be quick to note that flipping one little value in the vault is hardly what I would call an update.

Yes, but that is the whole fun idea about global SDL variables. To make people believe you are doing updates.

Heh... I was the one who submitted a ticket about the closed barriers to Cyan, asking if they could be opened. I got this back:

Quote:
Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to get rid of them via the vault. I've looked at all the variables I can change, both in the city and in Kadish (just in case it was there).

For now, the barriers are stuck there.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

I guess he found something different on the second look-through. :)
