Not necessarily. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Portal is supposed to take place in the real world, right? Just a super-advanced testing facility? Well whose to say that real world doesn't have a Cavern? It's like when two authors respect each other's work, and so decide that each other's stories are real in their own fictional universes.

NOTE: I am fully aware this is a horrible, HORRIBLE idea for Uru. I'm joking. But still... portal gun in the cavern! Awesome!

Well, listen to the hassle they had making the physics work in Portal, then think of the hassles with Uru changing physics engines.

Now multiply.


I think it'd be hilariously fun though even if it's so out of place it'd only belong on a one shard perhaps.. but it would prove we have a good hang on the engine, I think... :D

It was just a suggestion made in good fun. I guess the books are our portals. Still it would be great to not have to redo the weights in the prison on Teledahn.

To elaborate: A portal gun (or to give it it's correct title of "Aperture Science hand-held portal device", but portal gun is quicker to type :P) is a device that can create linked inter-spacial portals on flat surfaces. From the game Portal (teaser trailer)
