I have moved on from the Concert Hall investigation and found some thing even more perplexing. My investigation on the Concert Hall is inconclusive, I need to go find some old construction plans and to think some more on it. :)

I was checking out the gates at the Ferry and snapped this first picture

That made me investigate this structure. What is it? What is it far? What does it do? It, IS, located by the docks. Well my explorer interest has kicked in, off I went to get a closer look!

I have my rubber inflatable boat and some swim gear, so I went off shore.

I went is inside to have a look around. I looked down and the reflection didn't seem right?

Took a picture of the window as a reference, glad I did! :)
I put on some swim gear and sank in to the water, the water was murky but clear enough for my next surprise!

This structure is below water! how do I know? 2 things, no reflection,it is under water, and the windows in the below structure are reversed design.

If you have any ideas would love to hear them. I have read some where about a construction project the D'ni were doing but can't remember where or who was doing this.

edited do to friendly advice :)

I have seen discussions of the building as a beacon. Larryf58 posted some pictures of the above water building on his photography thread in the Creativity area. I don't know why they'd need a beacon there. Maybe it would have shone out through the arch to guide ships when the lake was in it's dark periods? That would seem to me to be more likely to blind mariners as they entered the harbor.

I know I saw a discussion of something underwater at the ferry terminal but I'm not sure where. I may have to start keeping a Myst notebook for clues I find while wanderings through the forums.

Have you found the secret tunnel leading into the harbour?

Speculations only... Perhaps it was intended to use by the ferry connections between A'egura and the never restored City Proper.

Now that I knew where to look I could see the tunnel from the library plaza and the ferry terminal. Now where did I see that map of the whole island?

Here we go. Close enough anyway to see that the tunnel would appear to head towards the city proper and probably would have been the main workaday entrance to the harbor.

I finally got back to that area of the secret tunnel. I find that the Library stairs going down go down a lot farther than I first suspected, so I am beginning to wonder if the "secret tunnel" and the Library have a connection or is connected in some way physically we can not see. No pictures this time :( and it was just to dark down that far to be able to tell where I was at exactly, I am thinking I was close to the same level as that "secret tunnel".

I found this picture on the Chiso site - seems to indicate the new water level of the lake is higher than the original. Which could explain underwater structures.

I saw that too RL and have wondered at other times about the lake level. All I have decided is that it couldn't have changed much since the ferry plaza was built as it is close to the current lake level. I don't have a date on that on hand . It would seem surprising to me if there were not changes in lake level over 10,000 years. They could have managed that though.

I've also wondered about the lake levels in the harbor, mostly because of this:
Image
The rings on the rock suggest that at some point the water levels in the harbor were nearly up to the gaps between the stalagmites. But now we're talking about an event that could be millions of years old. Unless the original harbor water levels were higher and the first D'ni in the cavern cut a passage in the rock to make the water level even with the rest of the lake. I haven't seen any evidence of the ring in other areas of the Cavern.

I was checking out the Hall of Kings due to another thread
http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=26589&highlight=
I decided to post this here as it seemed to be a more generic topic.
I looked around and saw this structure....I've tried to pan around a bit so you have an idea where this is in relation to other areas of the city..here is the intriguing part: ...when I tried to get behind the 'wings', they rotated...Also, I noticed what look like missile silos on the sides of the rock face below that area...They look like silos because they point up at about 35 degrees...

What I think you are seeing is window awnings or patio door awnings. I can't think of any reason why the D'ni would have missile silos.

I have come back to the Library to recheck farther down the stairs, but again to dark to get a good picture. I did figure out that it is about a 100 ft above the lake water level, so there is possibly 3 more stair landings below that spot and may lead out to the "secret tunnel". Here is the only pic I have :(

http://postimg.org/image/a44j5b8p5/

Now referring back to the Ferry Docks and that structure below water I have researched out that King Me'emen proposed a under the lake tunnel to connect The Island (Ae'gura) with the City Proper. He never got this project started but King Lanaern did start this project. He had Stone Tooth digger(a mining machine) working on it for 20 years. This project was against the desires of the Guild Masters and the elite of connecting their home with the City Proper. They finally bullied King Lanaren to quit the project citing environmental concerns. So I wonder if this structure wasn't part of that project??
