After some initial problems yesterday, I'm able to log in with no real problems from two of my home computers. My office computer is another story.

The actual game server is up and running. However, not many people are getting past the log in issue. I saw a grand total of four people in the game a few minutes ago... and that's counting me.

I suspect that the update server is down due to the storm, and the game client tries to contact it. When it can't, the client crashes. My game log may have a recent enough contact that it doesn't see a need to talk to the update server.

That's my guess, anyway, since otherwise it makes no sense that I can log on and stay on with certain computers.

Seen from France, no information about it (I'm cynical, but as usual ....).
But reading the news US, I see that it is a real disaster ....
Hopefully this is only material and expect the power is restored to everyone ...
At this point, still no access.

The main game servers are hosted by Amazon, so aren't affected by the conditions in Spokane. However, the Support webserver is run from Cyan's offices and it is that server that provides the cavern status message the appears as part of the login dialogue boxes. If that server is down, then it is likely that the login process will time-out when using the standard client, but it's partly dependant on timing/luck and OS. XP machines seem not to be badly affected (if at all), but Win 7 upwards are. In rare cases, you might get in after several attempts. Some clients have been built with the code amended to address this issue but it hasn't made its way into the Cyan build yet.

I was wondering what was up with the absence of "the usual daily Uru'ites ."
I was in several times yesterday and noticed something was off. Each time I logged in, there was short periods of extreme lag the entire time while playing. I almost never have any lag whatsoever.

Even now at 08:00 KI time / 10am Eastern / late afternoon and early evening across Europe there were no active players in the city, hoods, or on my buddy list or even the recent list.
This must be affecting a lot of players.

Just for informational reasons:
Running MOULa Skydiving client on an older XP Pro pc.

Is there the person who can log in now?

My several buddies log in.
However, I cannot yet log in. :(

It was mentioned earlier that computers still on Windows XP have been logging on without much trouble. Connecting with newer operating systems is not impossible, but it's very unlikely. Mostly the newer ones can't.

At home, I have a windows XP notebook and there was never any trouble connecting it. My windows 10 had trouble, but after I got it working once, I've been able to log in with few problems. In my office, I have a windows 10 computer that cannot connect at all.

It looks like power is still out at Cyan's offices and until that is restored to bring the Support server back up, most people will still be unable to log in.

Latest report I can find from the power company is marked 12:02 AM PST and says "Crews are now on their way. Safety of our customers and our workers is our top priority, so we appreciate your patience." - that looks like the message most likely to apply to Cyan's location, but adjacent areas seems to still be in the "damage assessment" phase.

Everything back to normal as of last night, it seems...thanks, to everyone at Cyan!
Hope the power outage wasn't too disastrous for everyone there, both business-wise and in their personal lives.
