Shorah my friends!! :D

I have Return to Zork Japanese edition.
Its platform is Play Station.

Because this is a very old game, operability is very bad. :? :| :(
I checked it in Google.
It seems to be difficult to play this game in Play Station and SEGA SATURN.
It seems to be a PC version to be easy to play most.
However, this game is old.
Perhaps cannot play by Windows 7 or Windows 8. :?

Is there the person who has played this game?
I want to play Return to Zork with a PC version.

Thanks,
Chiro

Surprisingly, I have never played Return to Zork.

(I think I've played just about every other even remotely official Zork game. Although only a bit of one of the two ZorkQuest InfoComics.)

GOG has the English version, along with other Zork titles.

Alternatively, you could try with a PS emulator, but I don’t know how to set up that.

I know this thread is old but I was wondering
if they ever made a Riven type of Zork, 'point and click' type.?
with pictures etc.

Yes, there where several in the 90's, which one where you talking about? Zork: Grand Inquisitor was fun, though some of the puzzles had odd answers.(It's a big help if you try and think, 'you know what would be fun to try').

According tom the GOG site the four Zork games are also windows 7 compatible...
https://www.gog.com/game/return_to_zork

If I read correctly they come as a "pack".

Btw. the most demanding game I ever played was...
Schizm: Mysterious Journey
Part 1 of 11

Schizm: Mysterious Journey, is that the one where...

[Reveal] Spoiler:
One of the puzzles changes every time you try and solve it and you need to make a mathematical calculation to solve it?

I got so frustrated that I ended up giving it away. It had a neat story though.

I played Schizm. I also got it on cds and then got it on a single, 2 sided 10 gig DVD.

One puzzle is the rising bridge puzzle which is, I think, a similar idea to the Gahreesen climbing wall. What is the name of this kind of puzzle?

I could called that kind of puzzle a good spycho trap.

I have read a long time ago that 80% of the players did not finish the game.

Many people in those days thought that the game was similar to Myst. (remember tuning the sliders with the keyboard to people like me who did not a talent for music) I will never replay Myst. :(

There is a slightly easier way to solve the puzzle for people who have no musical skill.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
I think you count to find the first note(which should be the 8th one.), the second and forth(?) notes are both C so should sound harmonic. I can't remember the rest but you can always cont the notes on the keyboard and then the slider.(it's really easy to bump the slider twice though.)

There was a Youtube video I ounce found that explained it but I can't find it offhand.

The problem is that the sliders have no #s or no marks.

A YouTube video...

I always used to struggle with the musical sliders, until I noticed that in the original game at least, the sound played with an audible 'click' every time it looped. Now, the looping time is shorter for higher pitched notes, but, more importantly, different for every note. Nowadays, I simply use that to identify the notes, since matching rhythms is far easier than pitches.

Location: Hanging around with mermaids. And still looking for the elusive Funky Bahro.
I found my own solution:

[Reveal] Spoiler:
I just count the number of black and white keys in the illustration, then move the slider up that number. The only problem is care-ful-ly moving the mouse to put the slider in the proper notch. Oh, well, if the puzzle was easy, it wouldn't be a challenge, right?
