We had a peak of 18 listeners, which was not bad, given that logins were heavily affected by server issues.

This set was a lot of fun to put together, and I did have some suggestions for inclusion, but very late and I only manged to add one in.

By way of a slight diversion, I got myself a new Green Man T-shirt from Talking Elephant records at the Rochester Sweeps Festival, and looking at their catalog, noticed that their shirts are made by The Mountain in the US - and that they have a very suitable shirt for a Cyan fan to celebrate the victory of bringing Obduction to release - the Victory Frog. One for Mysterium, perhaps?

The next show, in two weeks time, will be another Rarities and What-Ifs show. See you there.

As always it was nice to see so many on the plaza, and even nicer to have more listeners online. We had a high point of 24 listeners. It is good to know that we can entertain you and build an audience :)

It is a shame that the geordie songs were not so easy for people to understand - many English speakers find them difficult so I can understand the problem. They are both significant for me, though.

The next show will be on Sunday 26th June. We aren't quite sure what it will be about yet....

Somebody asked what concert the Dave Brubeck live track was from, so I've checked.

The Dave Brubeck CD 'These Foolish Things', from which the cut of 'Take the "A" Train' comes, is a 1995 compilation that was also released as 'Take the "Five" Train'. The listing shows that the particular cut is from a concert in Rome in 1959. Other tracks on the compilation are from a BBC live recording for Jazz 625 in 1964 and a KQED TV broadcast in 1961.

The personnel is the classic Quartet, Dave Brubeck/Paul Desmond/Eugene Wright/Joe Morello.

Here is a link to the playlist for the Connections show.

A peak of 25, and the postshow was extended as lots of folks wanted us to carry on. We couldn't do that in public, so we played some more music instead...

August 7th marks the second anniversary for Radio Free D'ni in the cavern. As is traditional (well, as close as we can get to tradition) Ed is putting together a show containing his favourites from the past year's shows.

The show starts at 13 KI (8pm UK, 9 pm Central European Time) (KI time is Mountain Time in the US) with preshow music for at least 30 minutes before so you can all find the channel.

All three of us will be there, and Mal will bring some special beer for the occasion, I've no doubt. That will be my excuse, anyway. Join us, and help us celebrate :)

Shorah b'shemtee!

For those who are interested in helping me test, I will be live streaming the broadcast in Second Life at TJ's Dance Hall, starting with the pre-show at 12:30 p.m. cavern time (11:30 a.m. SL time).

If you want to join me there, IM me in SL (Ainia DaFente). Alternately, if you are a member of the SL D'ni Refugees group, check your notifications for details.

D'niJs, I will keep a head count since your channel statistics won't reflect the attendee count in SL.

I will report the test results here. :)

Ah, that sounds excellent, Ainia. Many thanks for this, and it will be really good to see how many folks join us, especially as it is Mysterium weekend.

We had a total of 5 listeners in SL today (including myself) and the testing of the setup went very well!

I'm planning to continue simulcasting the Radio Free D'ni shows in Second Life. The dance hall destination address is http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/D ... 02/42/3593 for those who want to join me there in two weeks. :-D

Please note that if you are a Windows user and you want to see the dance hall fractals, you will need to ensure you have QuickTime installed. The radio show audio works fine with or without QT.

The playlist for the Anniversary show is now up on the Radio Free D'ni website. We had a very successful anniversary with 16 in the cavern and 4 in Second Life for most of the time. We had fun both in front of and behind the scenes and the virtual beer flowed freely.

Our next show will be the 50th we have done, and will have a Golden theme. We're not sure what direction to develop that in yet... Keep watching :)
