Yeah, maybe. I'm getting challenged in a few places, perhaps quite rightly, for thinking there will be an extra margin that could actually amount to much of anything happening above the existing stated rewards & goals.
But - this Kickstarter is already quite impressively 300+% funded. Over $700k and still climbing, even if the growth rate is slowing down over time. That is, probably most of whatever excess margin past the material cost of physical reward items, that they thought would be made ABOVE the $247k goal, was not essential to the core rerelease project.
So I suppose if it were to climb high enough, even if the margin on many tiers aside from the first digital-only one, is fairly small, it could still add up to enough to make something more happen that was not initially expected to pan out.
KickTraq's trendline says it is headed for $9 million, and that's very unlikely I think as an estimate, but as much as $2 or $3 million by the end of the campaign might still be achievable if word of mouth spreads throughout the campaign.
And if so... it might fund something [Stretch goals of some sort, or substantial progress on Firmament] beyond what was first promised, simply due to the Kickstarter blowing past any level Cyan expected could happen.
As for my stated effort to assist with promotional stuff like I did with Obduction, I'm starting work on a poster, and some banner-ad style GIFs for use as forum signatures, not here but in forums people happen to already frequent that are not Myst forums but not totally unrelated either. [Steampunk, Fantasy art, fantasy games, puzzlers, adventure games, whatever groups might be relevant enough to be genuinely interested but not so related that they already all know.]
This GIF is a quick starting attempt, I actually worry this one is a bit confused bordering on misleading, I mention the imminent rereleases of the Myst series for Windows 10, and Myst.com as it's the easiest, shortest way to describe where to go, but I don't say Kickstarter, not sure why I did that. But the text is mainly placeholder at this point, I would like suggestions on what I ought to say with the final version and any variant ideas you all think would be better.
Here's what the first test GIF looks like. It's about 848kb.

Here's code for blog or website embeds: <a href="http://www.myst.com"><img src="http://www.mystfanart.org/myst-gif.gif"></a>
That pretty much sums it up.
