t's kind of like getting people who only play MOULa to update their computer to play Obduction, some people aren't going to drop dosh on a new PC setup to play only one game.

It's a big difference to get people to update their computer to play a new game, than to force them to update their computer to be able to play a game they played for years.

At least we’re in good company.

I do, and I will surely not upgrade until I am sure I can keep playing!

Using the same criteria, the population of the Cavern would be around 50. Yet, if the CavCon stats were still being updated, I’d suspect the figure would be closer to a few thousands.

Even if I made a poll here (I did one on Facebook), you would only get feedback from a portion, not all of the macOS users, which for all you know could be 100. In 2012, I would’ve been among those you didn’t count.

So I don’t see how “how many people even play MOUL on macOS” is a particularly relevant question.

To the average explorer, such a count, even if produced in a reliable way, would be worthless. To a developer who wonders how to prioritize certain tasks, such as producing a 64-bit client build, such information can be invaluable. It may also trigger him or her to re-prioritize certain tasks because he or she realizes that something he or she thought was not particularly relevant is actually more relevant than expected.

Whew, that's a lot of hypotheticals...

With the aforementioned caveat, then:

I think there is a number of Mac users playing MOULa, not countable, myself included.

To be able to update MOULa to 64 bit would not only benefit us Mac users, but all users, as an upgrade for the future. As I said before: You never know how long support for 32 bit will last.

Are you having trouble taking the survey? If so, how can we better enable your participation?

Oh well

A survey like that is not reliable, you can't expect that all explorers will participate in it, or ever look into the forums to find out about it.

It will show nothing.

The survey was announced at the AGM, on Facebook, Discord, here, on the GoW forum, and by word of mouth who knows where else. We won’t get everyone, but a fairly representative sample most likely.

So you refuse to participate in a survey looking to direct the work done on the game? I am struggling to understand your position. You seem to want work to happen in a certain direction on the game but are dismissing information gathering efforts that could result in your potential area of demand being addressed.

While we would love to help 100% of the fanbase, workforce is limited. Thus people who actively contribute to the community by keeping up with the local news are prioritized. Not ideal, but that's the best course of action if we want to get anywhere at all.

Also, smiles, good will and positivity are the only payment people get for spending their free time on tedious code to improve the game (and handle community management on top of that !). Kneb, your post shows none of those - keep in mind that you are trying the patience of everyone here. Not good.

Let's keep positive. This survey will reach as many people as can be done, and will help developers focus on what's important. It means progress is going in the right direction, which is a good thing.
