I'd like to meet with anyone interested in discussing the Guild of Writers this Saturday, 18 August 2007 at 7 pm GMT in the Guild of Age Builder's Bevin - click here to convert this to your time zone. We'll gather around the D'ni clock instead of in the amphitheater because this will be a roundtable discussion.

The topics for discussion will be the following:

- Mission Statement: purpose and scope of the GoW
- Structure: ranks, privileges and responsibilities
- Inter-Guild Relationships: how GoW interacts with other guilds
- Home: requirements for the future official GoW site
- Plans: short term and long term

The format will be simple: I'll state the question and everyone is invited to respond. After a short period of time, I'll move on to the next question. That way, we hear from everyone who has an opinion. I'll post the resulting chat logs at the end of this topic.

If anyone has any suggestions for additional topics, feel free to post below.

The Guild of Age Builder's Bevin should be publicly available on Saturday. If not, please send me your KI number and I'll send you an invite.

Clarification: the "Guild of Age Builders" is a legacy name and is not an official guild. This just happens to be my home hood. :D

Sounds like a good idea. I'll be sure to be there, and Tiran and Adam might be attending as well.

If anyone has questions, please post them in this thread; I'll come along early Sunday morning and collect the questions so that they can be discussed and answered at the meeting.

As always, feel free to PM me if you have a specific question or want some general information about the GoW. :)

I'm not able to attend to the meeting. I'm at a Medieval event on Saturday until late night. I might have time 17th or 19th 8pm UTC or later.

I can't attend, but I'd love it if you could keep a log of the chat.

I will be there! This weekend at that time works for me, too. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Cheers,

I cannot attend, because I have a job orientation all day until an hour before the meeting begins, and then I will be working for some time after that. If related issues are brought up (and I'm sure they will be), if someone could present my opinion that Guild membership should include everyone who helps with Age creation (be they programmers, creative writers, puzzle designers, musicians, 2D or 3D artists, or whatever), and that no type of job should be treated as more important than the others, I would greatly appreciate it.

Should we bring a list of the Ages we are working on. Currently I have two names and general desciption, and I know I will need a lot of help to finish both.
Perhaps the Guild needs a running list of ages in development and a contact person for each age.

[Edit: comment moved to the GoW thread, where it is actually relevant.]

I must say that is broadly sentiment I find very convincing, Montgomery. Though did you mean to put that here or in the discussion thread?

I am afraid I am busy that evening as well but my views are the same as Hawkin's.

You are absolutely correct, it should be over there. I'll move it. I started in reply to Hawkins' comment, above, and ended up saying more.
