I really think everyone should still have access to Delin - either via nexus or bookshelf

I wonder when we are going to start to fill up our book shelves anyway.

  1. The Guild of Greeter's Bevin has the Linking Book to Eder Tsogal.
  2. The Meeting Place neighborhood wasn't under any list last time I checked, and I highly doubt they have one.
  3. Eder Delin is not available neither through Nexus nor your Relto bookshelf.

Yeah, I want to know how we're supposed to get back there. I was searching through about a dozen Bevins this afternoon and I have yet to find one with an Eder Delin Linking Book.

I saw that the Spanish hood "Spanic" was asked if they wanted to keep their Delin book. They said yes, and the wish was kept.

I hope they can find some compromise with this, because I'm really not into having Linking Books behave like those sparks, disappearing and whatnot.

Although I'm not to fond of the "some Bevins will have Delin, the others will have Tsogal" route, but at least it's better that this.

Ichabod, as Drahcir said, The Meeting Place has a Delin book.

I am a member of that hood and I've seen it. Members online at the time of the changeover were asked if they would agree to host a Delin book and said yes.

Sometimes a hood doesn't show in the Nexus list, either because it's empty or because someone has switched it to private. TMP has a rule about no one switching the hood to private but people still occasionally find reasons to do it.

The Great Tree Bevin also now has a Delin book. Nick White swapped us back to Delin earlier this afternoon.

Most neighborhoods have a Tsogahl book because it is in high demand right now. But you can still find Delin; asking is the right thing to do.

As QuietCat mentioned, sometimes Bevins get switched from Public to Private. And sometimes, they drop off of the list anyway despite being public (there is presently a maximum of 50 visible Public neighborhoods). You're not alone in being frustrated by that. But do not lose hope; persevere and you will find what you are looking for.

There's still a little bug on the Live server affecting many public hoods. Many of them appear private even though they are public... and they have to be toggled off and on in order to appear in the public list, usually once each day.

I'm sure Cyan has a fix almost ready for that particular "feature."

:)

The same happened to lofre's Bevin. We have an Eder Delin linking book there, too.

I talked to Nick White who put back the Eder Delin book and he said that all neighborhoods got the Eder Tsogal linking book. They put back the Eder Delin book in only 5 neighborhoods. I am not sure if this will change in the future.

I talked to Nick White about this behaviour, too. From his reply I got the impression that this is not a bug but a feature: Whether a public hood drops off from the Nexus list depends on the frequency it is visited by players (not only hood members). In other words, popular hoods stay in the Nexus list.

(02/15 23:36:33) Nick White: Hey. How's it going?
(02/15 23:36:36) Marck: Nice to meet you
(02/15 23:36:40) Nick White: Nice to meet you.
(02/15 23:36:45) Marck: Thanky, I am fine. How about you?
(02/15 23:36:48) Nick White: Are you a member of this Hood?
(02/15 23:36:53) Marck: Yes, I am
(02/15 23:37:02) Nick White: Great. Would you like a Delin Book?
(02/15 23:37:10) Nick White: Right now all the Hoods have Tsogal Books.
(02/15 23:37:20) Marck: Err, sorry, Don't we have a Delin book already?
(02/15 23:37:21) Nick White: There are currently three Hoods that have Delin Books instead.
(02/15 23:37:28) Marck: Oh, I see
(02/15 23:37:31) Nick White: You would be the fourth.
(02/15 23:37:43) Nick White: It would bring some value to your hood, if that's not obvious.
(02/15 23:37:45) Marck: Yes, I think it would be good to have some variety :)
(02/15 23:37:50) Nick White: Great.
(02/15 23:38:19) Marck: Are you doing all this book exchange manually now?
(02/15 23:38:23) Nick White: Yep.
(02/15 23:38:29) Nick White: That alright?
(02/15 23:38:31) Marck: Wow, a lot of work
(02/15 23:38:34) Marck: Sure
(02/15 23:38:39) Nick White: Yeah, no kidding.
(02/15 23:39:02) Marck: Must you do the exchange all alone?
(02/15 23:39:20) Nick White: No.
(02/15 23:39:47) Nick White: There ya go.
(02/15 23:39:52) Marck: Do you have a target number for the hoods to get back a Delin book?
(02/15 23:39:56) Marck: Thank you
(02/15 23:40:08) Nick White: Not many. Might do one more today. So 5 total.
(02/15 23:40:22) Marck: Will this hood stay public now?
(02/15 23:40:32) Nick White: That's up to you.
(02/15 23:40:32) Marck: It usually falls off the Nexus list
(02/15 23:40:43) Marck: So we have to keep it on the list?
(02/15 23:40:43) Nick White: Ah... depending on how many people are here.
(02/15 23:40:49) Marck: Okay
(02/15 23:41:03) Nick White: Maybe not today since everyone is excited about the Tsogal Book but all new people will want Delin.
(02/15 23:41:17) Marck: We are not a big hood and not very often visited by others...
(02/15 23:41:23) Marck: maybe that will change now ;)
(02/15 23:41:28) Nick White: And storms come through Delin that are pretty spectacular. I suppose everyone will want to go there then too.
(02/15 23:41:37) Nick White: You'll have one of the few Books. Spread the word.
(02/15 23:41:41) Nick White: Have a good one.
(02/15 23:41:44) Nick White: Later.
(02/15 23:41:47) Nick White waves
(02/15 23:41:55) Marck: Okay, let's see if that was a good decision for our hood :)
(02/15 23:41:57) Marck: Bye
(02/15 23:42:01) Marck: and thanks again
(02/15 23:42:10) Nick White: No problem. I think it's a good decision.

I'm hoping for two things.

We each get our own personal instance of the garden ages for our relto.

and

Either each hood gets both books or they are routinlyswitched out in a cycle. Not several times a day like the hood yeesha page or the bahro stone to the telli docks. But more like every few days.

Of course I hope someday soon we will have more control over the features of the hoods. Also instead of you either have a "feature" or you don't I'd much rather see you have this "feature" or this "feature" in a given spot. (like different color lanterns instead of no lanterns at all)

Location: (n.) a place where something is or could be located; a site.
I was talking with a ResEng last night and he said that he knew of 3 hoods that had kept the Delin book. With his info, we can complete the list of the 5 Delin hoods:

Meeting Place
Great Shore
Amber Horizons
Spanic
lofre's

Someone might want to sticky this list so we don't get a hundred more "where's Delin" threads.
