The.Modificator and I have revised and adjusted the graphical calendar for the pod-ages.

The new address for the graphical calendar is http://www.uru-reallife.com/dnidatetime ... 6/map.html
We have changed the bar for Negilahn.
You will see now the next portals already in local times and in UTC if you cross a date with your mouse.

Furthermore, there are now also calendars for Dereno, Payiferen and Tetsonot integrated.

We like to thank everybody for your feedback and inspirations and hope, that the calendar will help those who like it. And please remember: it's still a beta ;) .

And be careful if you don't like spoilers.

Mucol

Edit 02.25.2010 address changed

This is quite impressive. Great work with the different pod views! :D

My one nice person/people is that even after it is stated that the page is "loading images" they are still reloaded (and hence not displayed instantly) after switching to another view. This may be due to the fact that the other "views" are in fact, separate pages, which causes the browser to reload upon switching. Perhaps it would be more responsive if you simply kept everything on the one page and had the script change what is visible? If not that, then simply forget about the "loading images" bar?

Also, your graphic "time of day" bars are out of sync with the times. As of this writing, it is displaying about 1 hour until Tetsonot, but the portal graphic is considerably (perhaps 1 hour) past the window, in the other direction... (did you reverse the direction? is it right to left now?)
Edit: yeah, the other pods images would support that.... Am I being dyslexic?
Edit2: yeahhh.. they're right. never mind. :D

Can't you just estimate this from the graphic "time of day" bar?
Or... you want times? That might be a bit cluttered.

Impressive work! The art is very nice. If you want suggestions, you might show where in each pod the portal will open...

My guess is that the loading images stage is downloading the images to your local machine. You're not downloading them again when you switch pages, but there's the momentary flash as the new page is rendered.

Its a great idea, but the loading times are awfull, as mentioned earlier after waiting (it seems like 30-40) seconds for it to load the images I was still waiting with each screen change. IS there no way to avoid this issue or to use images which are compressed to decrease the intial loading time?

No. The browser IS reloading all the images because it switches pages.
It takes the same amount of time as when I do a full refresh. Except upon returning to the pages.

This would not happen if they were all on one page, and the images were preloaded into a hidden div by the script and then switched. Browsers can render fast.

Instead, all the images are loaded, and then only the map is used. Then I navigate to another page, and the images that are used are reloaded. The images are not reloaded when I re-visit the page, because cached images are associated with specific pages, not specific domains.

I see what you're saying. The page loads are nearly instant for me, so I didn't notice the behaviour you describe.

I think it looks awesome, btw. Excellent work. Just some streamlining needed, I guess.

I know it's been said before but, Great Work!
I'd been kicking around the idea of doing something similar but looks like ya'll beat me to the punch.
Oh well, I guess I'll find something else to do. :)

Good work indeed. Thank you so much for the hard work

Btw, I have using Internet Explorer version 6.0.2800.1106 and have no problem accessing and seeing everything on your site.
